Lizhi “Starry” Ye, the 19-year-old rifler, has returned to Lynn Vision following a short stint with TYLOO. The announcement brings Starry back to the organization where he first rose to prominence, marking a reunion with his former teammates just before the new year.
Starry originally joined Lynn Vision in 2021 and quickly became a pivotal member of the team. He delivered an impressive 1.14 rating during his tenure, contributing significantly to Lynn Vision’s climb to their highest-ever global ranking of 23rd in November 2023. The team also gained international recognition with appearances in high-profile events such as ESL Pro League Season 18, IEM Sydney, the PGL Major in Copenhagen, and IEM Chengdu. However, despite their efforts, they struggled to progress beyond the group stages at these tournaments.
In the summer of 2024, Starry and his long-time teammate Dongkai “Jee” Ji parted ways with Lynn Vision to join rival team TYLOO. The move was seen as a strategic shake-up for both organizations. Starry’s time at TYLOO culminated in a triumphant showdown against his former Lynn Vision teammates in the ESL Challenger League Season 48 Asia-Pacific grand final, where TYLOO emerged victorious. Despite this success, Starry has now chosen to return to the team where he established his reputation, leaving Jee behind at TYLOO.
The return of Starry is expected to reinvigorate Lynn Vision’s roster, reuniting the rifler with familiar faces as they aim to reclaim their footing on the international stage. His reunion with the team underscores the esports transfer market’s dynamic and often unpredictable nature, where players frequently recalibrate their paths to maximize growth and success.
Lynn Vision’s current lineup now includes Zhe “Westmelon” Niu, Sike “z4kr” Zhang, Junjie “EmiliaQAQ” Tang, Jianye “afufu” Wang, and coach Yifei “GUM” Dai, with Starry rejoining to complete the roster. This development could signal a revitalized effort for Lynn Vision to regain their competitive edge and tackle upcoming challenges with renewed cohesion and determination.
