The Swedish esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas is preparing for significant changes as it aims to reclaim its position at the top in 2025. According to information shared with HLTV and journalist Guillaume ‘neL’ Rathier, the team plans to bring in up to four new players during the off-season. Artem “r1nkle” Moroz is expected to be the only player retained from the roster that ended 2024 ranked outside the global top 30.

Reports indicate that Ninjas in Pyjamas intend to build their team around Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, a 34-year-old in-game leader who was benched by the Falcons following the 2024 season. Pfeiffer is set to lead the new lineup after spending a year with the Saudi-backed organization.

Joining him is likely to be Rasmus “sjuush” Beck, who is currently the last remaining player on HEROIC. With his teammates preparing to move to other teams, Beck has been given permission to explore new opportunities, as reported by HLTV on Thursday.

Additionally, Portuguese players Rafael “arrozdoce” Wing and Michel “ewjerkz” Pinto, both formerly of SAW, are expected to complete the new lineup. The duo played a pivotal role in helping SAW reach the semi-finals at IEM Cologne 2024. However, arrozdoce was unexpectedly benched before the Europe RMR, and ewjerkz was placed on the transfer list at the season’s conclusion.

These changes signal the end of Fredrik “REZ” Sterner’s longstanding career with the team. Having joined in 2017, Sterner became the face of Ninjas in Pyjamas after the departures of legendary players like Patrik “f0rest Lindberg and Christopher “GeT_RiGhT Alesund.

The decision to overhaul the roster by signing four new players without an established core is seen as a bold strategy. This approach means starting 2025 from scratch in Valve’s rankings. Nonetheless, Ninjas in Pyjamas view this as a vital step to regain prominence and have committed to investing the resources needed to construct a competitive lineup.

When reached for comment, Ninjas in Pyjamas shared the following statement with HLTV: “Over the past month, we’ve been in touch with an incredible number of players and have explored countless roster combinations, some of which would surprise even the fans. However, nothing has been finalized at this stage, so we cannot confirm the details.”
