Samet “jottAAA” Köklü has been announced as the replacement for Buğra “Calyx” Arkın on Eternal Fire’s roster for the 2025 season. The Turkish organization shared the news on Thursday, signaling a fresh start as they head into the new year.
At just 22 years old, jottAAA is reuniting with the team where he spent two years in their academy squad from 2022 to 2024. In March, he was loaned to Sangal to continue developing his skills. During his time there, he excelled in lower-tier competitions, achieving a 1.12 rating for 2024. He also showcased his potential in his sole Big Event appearance, representing Sangal at ESL Pro League Season 20.
Calyx departs the active roster after three years of service. Under his leadership, Eternal Fire evolved from a fringe top-20 team into a formidable competitor. The team hit new heights in 2024, highlighted by a playoff run at the PGL Major Copenhagen and finishing second at ESL Pro League Season 20.
The organization expressed its gratitude to Calyx, stating, “Calyx holds a special place in all our hearts. Together, we achieved significant victories on the global stage and created memories that will last forever.” While he transitions off the active roster, Calyx will remain part of the organization as he explores opportunities both within and outside the team.
Eternal Fire’s first test with jottAAA will be BLAST Bounty Season 1, which begins on January 14 with an online stage featuring 32 teams. The top eight will advance to the finals in Copenhagen. Later in the month, the team will head to IEM Katowice, entering through the Play-in stage on January 29, thanks to their current 14th place in Valve’s Global standings.
