In a continued effort to reshape their CS2 roster, fnatic have finalized the acquisition of Ukrainian AWPer Dmytro “jambo” Semera from Passion UA, officially stepping in for Denys “Burmylov” Buraga, who has now been moved to the bench.

This latest change marks fnatic’s third AWPer shuffle within just half a year. The organization previously parted ways with Aurélien “afro” Drapier in September, followed by the release of Tim “nawwk” Jonasson in January. With Burmylov’s brief tenure now at an end, fnatic are clearly in search of greater consistency and a new formula to return to prominence.

Burmylov had only spent two months on the starting roster, during which he maintained an average rating of 1.01. Despite flashes of potential, the team failed to leave a strong impression in recent CCT competitions, with a runner-up placement in Series 19 serving as their only notable finish. Given his young age of just 17, many still regard him as a high-ceiling prospect for the future, though his development will now continue away from the starting five.

The incoming jambo, meanwhile, arrives with a surge of momentum behind him. He broke onto the wider radar after a standout run with Passion UA at the Perfect World Shanghai Major, where his poise, mechanical skill, and all-around versatility drew attention. The move also reunites him with his former in-game leader Rodion “fear” Smyk, who joined fnatic earlier this year. The reunion is viewed as an important step in reinforcing fnatic’s internal synergy and long-term planning.

According to fnatic’s team director Andreas “Samuelsson” Samuelsson, the addition of jambo reflects a broader vision to rejuvenate the roster. His capacity to perform under pressure, adaptability across weapon roles, and raw talent were cited as key reasons for bringing him onboard. The organization is confident that jambo’s presence will inject new life into their system and move them closer to being contenders on the international stage once again.

To give the new AWPer the best possible start, fnatic have scheduled a pre-event bootcamp beginning on March 24. This initiative comes just ahead of two significant competitions: the Galaxy Battle STARTER playoffs and the PGL Astana Europe closed qualifier. These upcoming events not only represent vital practice opportunities but could also secure fnatic a place in the highly competitive BLAST.tv Austin Major Regional Qualifier.

With tension increasing across the European scene and multiple teams fighting for limited Major spots, fnatic’s latest roster decision may prove critical in shaping their path over the coming months. The team now enters a pivotal stretch with their updated lineup:

Sweden’s Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson, Denmark’s Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, Ukraine’s Rodion “fear” Smyk, Slovakia’s Matúš “MATYS” Šimko, and Ukraine’s newest addition, Dmytro “jambo” Semera. The roster is coached by Denmark’s Peter “casle” Ardenskjold, with Denys “Burmylov” Buraga remaining part of the organization on the bench.

With the squad taking shape and key tournaments on the horizon, fnatic will be aiming to bring back the level of play that once made them a staple at top-tier events.
