Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro has been removed from fnatic’s active lineup, the team announced on Thursday.

The French in-game leader joined fnatic in November 2023, replacing Christopher “dexter” Nong. Over his year-long tenure, fnatic’s most notable accomplishments included a runner-up finish at the FiReLEAGUE 2024 Global Finals and earning a spot at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

Despite bringing in Benjamin “blameF” Bremer, a highly regarded rifler, fnatic struggled throughout the 2024 season. The team’s participation at premier events was limited to three tournaments: two ESL Pro League seasons, where they were invited as an ESL partner, and the Shanghai Major. Their performances were lackluster, finishing 21st-28th in the league seasons and exiting the Major in the Opening Stage without a win.

Following their disappointing results in Shanghai, fnatic’s CGO, Patrik “cArn” Sättermon, acknowledged the need for changes. On December 6, he stated, “We are coming to an end station now in the current shape and form of our structure.”

The organization responded by parting ways with head coach Jamie “keita” Hall, and now bodyy has also been moved to the bench. fnatic has yet to announce replacements for these departures, but cArn hinted at scouting emerging talent from lower-tier teams.

“We’re seeing a lot of promising players out there, and we hope to build something stronger that will grow sustainably,” cArn said last month. Speculation has since surfaced that fnatic might be targeting Rodion “fear” Smyk, the captain of Passion UA, who led his team to an unexpected appearance at the Perfect World Shanghai Major.

fnatic’s roster currently stands as follows:

Sweden Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
Slovakia Matúš “MATYS” Šimko
Denmark Benjamin “blameF” Bremer
Sweden Tim “nawwk” Jonasson (loaned from BLEED)

Germany Can “kyuubii” Ali (benched)
France Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro (benched)
