Franco “dgt” García is no longer part of the active roster of 9z Team, as confirmed by the organization through their social media platforms.

Having been with 9z since May 2019, dgt’s departure marks the end of a long tenure, though as of now, there has been no official word on who will take his place or what his next career move will be.

During his time with 9z, dgt achieved several notable accomplishments, including:

  • A 9th-11th place finish at PGL Major Antwerp 2022 (Challengers)
  • A 9th-11th place finish at IEM Rio Major 2022 (Challengers)
  • A 3rd-4th place finish at ESL Challenger Katowice 2023
  • A 3rd-4th place finish at IEM Dallas 2024

In a heartfelt message posted on X, dgt shared his thoughts on the departure, expressing his gratitude to the organization and his teammates. “As you all know, I’m now on the bench. After discussions with the team, we agreed that parting ways was the best decision. Personally, I had been feeling for some time that we weren’t moving in the same direction, and I needed a fresh start,” he wrote.

He went on to thank everyone involved with 9z, from the players to the staff, and highlighted the strong friendships and valuable lessons he took with him from the nearly six years spent with the organization.

“I want to especially thank Fran and 9z for everything they’ve done for my growth and for the journey we shared. You all are exceptional,” he added. “I’m also grateful to the entire 9z community for their support. Please continue to support me as I move on to new challenges. I love you all.”

Reflecting on his career, dgt acknowledged that things don’t always unfold as expected but emphasized that the challenges are necessary for growth.

Dgt started his professional career in February 2018 and has also played for teams like Malvinas Gaming eSports, S2N Esports Club, and Sinisters eSports. Over the course of his career, he has earned $103,352 in prize money.
