Complexity is reportedly in discussions to sign Danny “cxzi” Strzelczyk and Nick “nicx” Lee, according to a Dust2.us report. The duo would fill the spots vacated by Ricky “floppy” Kemery, who was recently released, and Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, who has been linked to a move to FaZe Clan in the upcoming season.
cxzi has been a fixture in the North American scene for nearly five years, having played for teams like Triumph, Nouns, Strife, and Party Astronauts. Most recently, he competed alongside Joshua “steel” Nissan in ESEA Advanced Season 48, where his team secured promotion to the ESL Challenger League through the Relegation stage. During this period, cxzi stood out with a 1.27 rating across 10 maps. Moving to Complexity would mark his first opportunity to consistently compete at the tier-one level, following a year where he averaged a 1.12 rating over 192 maps in North America’s sub-top tier.
Nick “nicx” Lee is a comparatively new face, having only debuted in the ESL Challenger League during Season 45. Over the past year, he played for LAG, achieving a 1.12 rating and winning Fragadelphia Philadelphia in early 2024. More recently, nicx trialed with Nouns before catching the attention of Complexity.
The potential additions reflect Complexity’s effort to delve deeper into the North American talent pool to rebuild its roster. CEO Jason Lake recently spoke on the Four Horsemen podcast about the challenges of competing against larger organizations with bigger budgets and inflated salaries. He emphasized a desire to return to Complexity’s North American roots by nurturing emerging talent, a strategy these moves align with.
If finalized, the roster would include:
South Africa Johnny “JT” Theodosiou
United States Michael “Grim” Wince
Norway Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli
United States Danny “cxzi” Strzelczyk
United States Nick “nicx” Lee
South Africa Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen (coach)
