Argentinian esports organization BESTIA has reinforced its Counter-Strike 2 lineup, securing the signing of Leonardo “leo_drk” Oliveira. This addition comes after recent roster moves that saw Fillipe “pancc” Martins leave the team and Nazareno “naz” Romero being moved to the bench. With leo_drk’s arrival, BESTIA now has four active players, signaling the first step in rebuilding its squad.
Leo_drk, a Brazilian player, is widely recognized for his time competing alongside coldzera in 00NATION during 2021 and 2022. Most recently, he was part of Swingers, a team that faced BESTIA on multiple occasions earlier this year. In their latest encounter, Swingers eliminated BESTIA from CCT South America Series 7 with a dominant 2-0 victory, further emphasizing his impact in the region.
BESTIA is a team that made a name for itself in 2024 by securing spots at two Americas RMR events, competing for a chance at the PGL Major Copenhagen and the Perfect World Shanghai Major. Their run at the latter tournament nearly ended in success, but they fell just short of qualification with a 2-3 record, suffering an intense loss to M80 in a double-overtime decider that ended their campaign.
During that same Americas RMR, Tomas “tomaszin” Corna emerged as one of the standout performers, boasting an impressive 1.37 rating—the second highest of the event, surpassing well-known players like Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak.
Despite their moments of promise, BESTIA has struggled to maintain consistency, frequently adjusting its roster in search of stronger results. Following their first RMR elimination, they introduced naz, while Ignacio “meyern” Meyer was replaced by Mauro “zock” Da Silva midway through 2024 after a difficult run of form. However, even zock was benched after their second unsuccessful RMR campaign, continuing a cycle of changes that has persisted into 2025.
After an underwhelming start to the new season, including early exits at multiple tournaments against lower-ranked opponents, BESTIA has once again opted for roster modifications. The arrival of leo_drk marks the beginning of their latest restructuring, with another addition expected to complete the squad.
The current BESTIA lineup consists of Tomas “tomaszin” Corna, Luciano “luchov” Herrera, Nicolás “Noktse” Dávila, and Leonardo “leo_drk” Oliveira, led by coach Julián “Zote” Acosta, while Nazareno “naz” Romero remains on the bench.
