Danish coach Danny “BERRY” Krüger has parted ways with SAW after a three-month stint as the head coach, a tenure that included helping the team achieve their best-ever result at a Big Event — a top-four finish at IEM Cologne in August. The separation was mutually agreed upon, with SAW citing differences in methodology and team vision as the reason for the split.

BERRY expressed his appreciation for SAW, the players, and the Portuguese community, announcing that he is now a free agent and eager to return to coaching as soon as possible.

Initially joining SAW in May, BERRY’s role was a unique one, given his history in the Danish Counter-Strike scene. Despite the language barrier, BERRY quickly took on the challenge, with his first LAN event as coach being the BLAST Premier Spring Final in June. Though the team placed last, BERRY soon signed a contract to continue as coach through the end of the year.

Under his leadership, SAW experienced notable success, including qualifying for the Perfect World Shanghai Europe RMR and achieving their highest-ever world ranking at No. 9. However, the team’s performance began to decline later, with underwhelming finishes in CCT Season 2 Europe Series 11 and ESL Challenger Katowice, leading to BERRY’s departure.
