The developers behind Counter-Strike 2 have officially announced a major update arriving next week, introducing Premier Season Two, adjustments to the active map pool, and weapon balancing changes. The upcoming patch will bring several significant updates, with Valve outlining the key details in their latest statement.

The second season of Premier Mode is set to begin next week, following a brief off-season period where player ratings will be recalibrated based on previous performance. Those who participated in Season One will be rewarded with a commemorative Premier Season One Medal, along with access to a detailed statistics menu summarizing their achievements.

Before the official start of Season Two, there will be a one-day off-season period during which player rankings will be adjusted according to their final rating from Season One. To establish a new Premier rating for the season, players must complete ten calibration matches.

A major shift in the map pool will also take place, with Train making a return, replacing Vertigo in the competitive rotation. Alongside this, weapon balancing changes will be introduced, including a price reduction for the M4A4 and FAMAS, with the latter also receiving improved shooting accuracy when firing from standing and crouching positions.

The second Premier season will conclude following the BLAST.tv Austin Major, and players who meet the seasonal requirements will receive a special medal as recognition for their performance. The medal’s color will be determined by the highest rating achieved, while stripes will indicate the number of total victories, with one stripe awarded for every 25 wins (up to a maximum of five).

To qualify for the Premier Season Two Medal, players must have an account in good standing, win at least 25 Premier matches, and maintain an active Competitive Skill Rating (CSR) at the season’s conclusion.

Notably, Premier Season One launched alongside Counter-Strike 2, marking approximately a year and a half since its introduction. Season Two is set to conclude shortly after the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025, scheduled to take place from June 9-22, 2025.
