PGL has announced a venue change for its inaugural Counter-Strike 2 tournament in 2025, which will now occur from February 14 to 23rd.
Originally planned for Buenos Aires, Argentina, the event moved to Cluj-Napoca, Romania. According to PGL, the decision was driven by the challenges of managing a packed tournament calendar.
The operator also disclosed the schedule for issuing invites to its 2025 events based on Valve’s official rankings. Invitations will be sent on the following dates: January 6 for PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, February 3 for PGL Bucharest 2025, March 3 for PGL Astana 2025, and September 1 for PGL Belgrade 2025.
PGL further confirmed that all upcoming Counter-Strike 2 tournaments will feature eight-team playoffs, with an additional third-place decider match in each event.
Additionally, the company reaffirmed its commitment to award all prize money within two weeks after each tournament concludes, maintaining a payout timeline much faster than its competitors.
