Collin “CoJoMo” Moren, a 22-year-old AWPer, has announced that he is stepping away from active competition following the conclusion of the IESF World Esports Championship. CoJoMo shared that his decision stems from a desire to focus on mentoring new players and contributing to the growth of the Counter-Strike scene. Reflecting on the demands of competing, he expressed a wish to help others navigate the game’s challenges while prioritizing life’s more significant aspects. He described 2025 as a turning point in his journey, emphasizing his intention to share the valuable lessons he learned through triumphs and setbacks.
Once considered a rising talent in North America with the AWP, CoJoMo’s career trajectory shifted earlier this year after a significant controversy. His team, Perseverance Gaming, faced disqualification from ESL Challenger League Season 48 due to deceptive claims involving fabricated weather reports and power outages. This incident resulted in bans from ESL FACEIT Group events for the entire roster, including CoJoMo. Perseverance Gaming released the team following the disqualification, although the bans were lifted this past September.
Since then, CoJoMo reunited with former teammates, competing under the Phoenix banner in the Americas RMR qualifier and later representing Team USA at IESF. Unfortunately, the squad’s run at the international LAN ended without a single win, leaving them with a 0-5 record.
Looking ahead, CoJoMo clarified that he plans to remain active within the Counter-Strike scene, albeit in a different capacity. While no longer a competitor in the traditional sense, his focus will shift toward fostering talent and contributing to the community in new ways.
