Between February and July, teams will compete fiercely to secure a spot in the BLAST Open. BLAST has disclosed more details about BLAST Rising, the open segment of the BLAST circuit that provides teams with a pathway from open qualifiers to BLAST Open.

A news post on BLAST.tv confirmed the process for extending invitations, the dates of the qualifiers, and the format for BLAST Rising. The tournament will feature separate circuits for Europe, North America, South America, and Asia, with each region following an identical structure. All matches will be conducted online.

The competition will commence with an open qualifier, where four teams will advance to the closed qualifier stage. These teams will join 12 others selected based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS).

The four best teams from the closed qualifier will move on to the BLAST Rising Finals. They will face off against four additional teams invited via the VRS. The victors of the BLAST Rising Finals in each region will secure a place in the BLAST Open.

Regarding the format, the closed qualifiers will feature 16 teams divided into four double-elimination BO3 groups. Each group winner will advance to the Rising Finals. The BLAST Rising Finals will follow a single-elimination BO3 bracket format with eight competing teams.
