In the first round of the BLAST Premier World Final, MOUZ managed to take down FaZe in two maps, marking their second consecutive victory against them. The two teams previously clashed at IEM Rio, where MOUZ avenged their IEM Chengdu defeat to FaZe, who had secured a 2-0 win in that grand final.

This matchup was highly competitive, with MOUZ narrowly edging out FaZe, taking Inferno 16-13 after overtime and closing Nuke at 13-11 in a full 24-round game. With this result, FaZe faces Natus Vincere in an elimination series, while MOUZ is set to challenge Astralis in the upper bracket.

David “frozen” Čerňanský led FaZe with a 1.25 rating against his former team, followed by Finn “karrigan” Andersen with a 1.03. MOUZ’s standout performer was Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin, who achieved a 1.33 rating and 23 kills across both maps.

The action began with Dorian “xertioN” Berman’s four kills in the pistol round on Inferno, yet the teams stayed neck and neck, reaching a 10-10 tie. Later, Brollan’s quad-kill gave MOUZ the advantage at 13-13, propelling them to three straight rounds to capture Inferno.

On Nuke, Brollan continued to shine, but FaZe struggled to find their rhythm. A critical misplay from karrigan saw FaZe lose ground due to a Lobby crunch, ultimately missing the chance to extend the match to overtime by losing a 4v2 in a pivotal moment.
