Legacy has officially secured a place at PGL Bucharest after dominating the South American qualifier without a single loss. The Brazilian squad will now compete in the $1.25 million event in Romania, joining teams such as Complexity, Rare Atom, and Apogee. This marks the second time in 2025 that Legacy has successfully qualified for an international LAN, following their earlier triumph in securing a spot at IEM Dallas.

Heading into the qualifier, Legacy was considered one of the strongest contenders, ranking just behind Sharks in the VRS standings among South American teams. However, their journey to the top was not without challenges, as they faced tough opposition in Flamengo and 9z before clinching the qualification. The path to Bucharest also came with controversy, as their advancement was aided by a forfeit win over RED Canids. Due to a scheduling conflict with CCT Series 8, RED Canids were unable to play their match, which automatically granted Legacy a win. This decision sparked debate, as RED Canids’ players claimed that every other team in the competition had agreed to reschedule, while Legacy opted against it. In response, Legacy defended their stance by stating that they had deliberately turned down invitations to other events to prioritize this tournament.

The Brazilian team has undergone significant changes since the start of the year, bringing in Lucas “lux” Meneghini as in-game leader and adding Vinicius “n1ssim” Pereira to the roster. These adjustments were made following the departures of Gabriel “NEKIZ” Schenato and Bruno “b4rtiN” Câmara. Despite the roster shake-up, Legacy has quickly adapted, showing strong performances in both regional and international qualifiers. Their success last month in the IEM Dallas qualifier, where they defeated Sharks and Fluxo twice, further solidified their upward trajectory.

PGL Bucharest is set to take place from April 6 to 13, hosted in the organizer’s studio in Romania. The tournament will kick off with a 16-team Swiss stage, where only the top eight teams will advance to the single-elimination playoffs. The finalized list of teams set to compete in Bucharest includes top-tier organizations from around the globe, featuring representatives from Europe, North America, South America, and Asia.

The final lineup for PGL Bucharest includes:

  • Turkey: Eternal Fire
  • Europe: G2, FaZe, Falcons, GamerLegion
  • Mongolia: The MongolZ
  • Russia: Virtus.pro
  • Denmark: Astralis
  • United States: Liquid, Complexity
  • Brazil: paiN, FURIA, Legacy
  • France: 3DMAX

With Legacy proving their potential in recent months, their upcoming performance in Bucharest will be a major test of how they stack up against international competition.
