ESL has revealed the lineup for IEM Melbourne, which is scheduled to take place from April 21-27. The event will feature sixteen teams, with two double-elimination groups that will lead to a six-team playoff held in front of the Australian audience at the iconic Rod Laver Arena.
The tournament will include ten teams invited based on their position in the global rankings, and six additional spots have been allocated through the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) for the Americas, Asia, and Europe regions.
Among the invited teams are the top four ranked teams in the world: Spirit, Vitality, Natus Vincere, and Eternal Fire. FaZe, the reigning IEM Sydney champions, have also accepted their invitation, knowing well the taste of victory in Australia.
However, three teams—G2, FURIA, and Astralis—chose not to participate in the event. Despite this, the remaining top-tier teams will make their way to Australia to compete for a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool.
