HEROIC have earned their place in the Perfect World Shanghai Major by defeating Passion UA in a hard-fought three-map series during the EU RMR B’s 2-1 pool. The international lineup, led by Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski, recovered from an early setback on their map pick to claim decisive wins on Vertigo and Mirage, with standout performances from Guy “NertZ” Iluz and René “TeSeS” Madsen propelling them forward.
Passion UA started the series impressively, dominating Ancient and establishing a commanding 10-2 lead on the CT side. The Ukrainians capitalized on their momentum with a stunning ace from Dmytro “jambo” Semera using only a Desert Eagle, leaving HEROIC reeling. Despite their best efforts to recover by playing aggressively and contesting map control, HEROIC struggled to keep pace, with only kyxsan and NertZ posing any real threat. The gap proved too wide, and the international team fell short in their comeback attempt.
The action shifted to Vertigo, where both teams delivered exciting moments. TeSeS and Rasmus “sjuush” Beck each recorded aces, and Passion UA managed an impressive 2v4 clutch, contributing to an entertaining first half. However, HEROIC maintained an 8-4 advantage heading into the break. Passion UA briefly stayed competitive with a flawless pistol round, but HEROIC quickly regained control, cruising to a comfortable victory and leveling the series.
On Mirage, Passion UA initially took the lead under the guidance of Rodion “fear” Smyk. However, HEROIC soon seized control, dictating the tempo once their economy stabilized and securing eight offensive rounds. TeSeS delivered a critical clutch in the pistol round, denying Passion UA’s bomb plant and shifting the momentum firmly in HEROIC’s favor. Although the Ukrainians mounted a late-game push, HEROIC’s dominance was unshakable, and they closed out the series to claim their Major spot.
This win solidifies HEROIC’s place in Shanghai, showcasing their resilience and ability to adapt against a spirited Passion UA team that ultimately fell short despite a promising start.
