The all-Brazilian clash saw FURIA claim victory on Anubis (13-9) and Inferno (13-1), while MIBR managed to edge out an overtime win on Mirage (19-17). This result sends Felipe “insani” Yuji and his squad packing, ending their tournament run.
This match served as a rematch of their earlier faceoff in Stage 1, where MIBR emerged victorious in a 2-0 sweep. Once again, MIBR opted for Anubis, but their attempt to replicate past success fell short after FURIA established a dominant 8-1 lead on the T side. Though MIBR managed to close the gap late in the game, their resurgence had more to do with FURIA’s inability to close than their own momentum shift.
Mirage was a different story. MIBR came out swinging, securing both pistol rounds and grinding their way to a 19-17 overtime victory. insani played a crucial role, delivering a stellar 1.43-rated performance that kept his team in contention. However, the energy was short-lived, as FURIA completely dismantled them on Inferno, racing to an overwhelming 11-1 T-side half that sealed the series with ease.
Despite this win, FURIA’s claim as Brazil’s top team remains uncertain. While the trio of Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato, Yuri “yuurih” Santos, and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo gives them a formidable roster, their performances have yet to establish dominance over their regional rivals. paiN, who are also in the 1-2 pool, currently hold the edge in the Americas VRS rankings. If FURIA are to make a deep run in the tournament and challenge for that top spot, they will need to mount an impressive comeback from their early setbacks in Stockholm.
