Complexity has officially parted ways with their long-time head coach, Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen, bringing an end to his three-year tenure with the organization. The decision follows a difficult start to the 2025 season, where the team managed only one win in their first six LAN appearances.
The roster, already weakened by the offseason departure of Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and the benching of Ricky “floppy” Kemery, has seen a sharp decline in rankings. After starting the year in 15th place in Valve’s global standings, Complexity has now slipped to 25th.
T.c originally joined the organization in January 2022 when Complexity rebuilt its roster around the Extra Salt core. Under his leadership, the team claimed victory at ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024 and reached the grand final of IEM Sydney 2023, marking some of their most notable achievements.
Following his departure, T.c expressed appreciation for his time with Complexity and extended his best wishes to the team. He also stated that he would be returning to South Africa to spend time with family while considering future opportunities, remaining open to coaching positions in any region.
Just before announcing the coaching change, Complexity secured a 2-0 win over Aether in the North American closed qualifier for PGL Bucharest. Their next match is set for Thursday, where they will face Take Flyte in the upper bracket semi-final of Group B.
