Sixteen teams from North and South America are set to compete in the Americas RMR in Shanghai, China, vying for seven spots at the upcoming Perfect World Shanghai Major, one of Counter-Strike’s premier tournaments. The competition, featuring top contenders like Liquid, FURIA, and Complexity, will run from November 12 to 15, with high stakes and intense matchups anticipated.

This qualifying event includes teams that have earned their places through Valve Regional Standings and regional closed qualifiers held in North and South America. The roster of participating teams is diverse, featuring FURIA, Liquid, Complexity, paiN, M80, MIBR, Imperial, 9z, RED Canids, BESTIA, Legacy, Wildcard, Nouns, BOSS, Case, and KRÜ, with teams representing a mix of powerhouse regions from Brazil, Argentina, and the United States.

The tournament format will see the teams compete in a Swiss system group stage. Matches in the first two rounds and the third round’s 1-1 pool will be conducted in a best-of-one format, while progression and elimination matches from round three onward will shift to a best-of-three setup. Teams achieving a 3-0 or 3-1 record and the highest-seeded team with a 3-2 record will secure a direct spot in the Perfect World Shanghai Major. A match between the two lower-seeded teams with 3-2 records will determine the final slot.

The detailed match schedule kicks off with the first two rounds on November 12, featuring matchups like FURIA vs. Legacy and Liquid vs. Wildcard at 05:00, followed by other games throughout the day, including Complexity taking on BESTIA and paiN facing Nouns. Each subsequent day will continue with the remaining rounds, culminating on November 15 with the crucial Swiss Round 5 matches and a decider for the seventh place.

The top seven teams after the RMR will earn spots in the Perfect World Shanghai Major’s Opening Stage. This is part of an expanded allocation of slots for the Americas and Asia, showcasing the tournament’s increased inclusivity and competition.
