On November 13, after days of anticipation, Valve officially brought Train back into Counter-Strike 2 with an updated version. This remake features enhanced graphics and new rain effects, elevating the visual experience. Players can now enjoy Train in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes. Several adjustments have also been made to the community map rotation.

The revamped Train includes substantial modifications to its structure. The drop room has been replaced with a sloping tunnel, altering the gameplay dynamics. A-site has been made more spacious with fewer train cars, providing a different tactical approach. Additionally, the Heaven area has been entirely removed, and Ivy, along with some other passageways, has been partially blocked. On B-site, the bomb plant position has been shifted, and a cabin has been introduced at Long, hindering a direct line of sight to the upper entrance.

The update saw Train added to the roster of Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes. Community maps received new additions as well, with Basalt and Edin now available for these modes and Palais and Whistle added for Wingman. In contrast, Thera, Mills, Assembly, and Memento have been removed from all gameplay modes.

Train originally debuted in Counter-Strike 1.6, quickly gaining popularity as an iconic map. It made its way into each subsequent game version with periodic updates and layout adjustments, including a significant rework during CS’s era. However, Train was removed from the competitive map pool in 2021, and CS2 launched without it included. The reintroduction marks a significant moment for fans who appreciate the legacy of the map.
