Valve has released a new update for Counter-Strike 2 on October 24, 2024, focusing on map improvements and bug fixes. The patch brings changes to two popular maps—Vertigo and Mills—while addressing several gameplay bugs and making improvements to the game’s user interface.
Map Updates
- Vertigo:
- Fixed an issue with grenade collisions interacting poorly with certain props.
- Addressed a wall bang exploit that allowed players to shoot through walls unfairly.
- Mills:
- Updated to the latest version from the Community Workshop, bringing various tweaks (details available in the update notes).
- Added new localization strings for location callouts, helping players better communicate during matches.
Miscellaneous Fixes
Valve also rolled out important fixes in this patch to improve gameplay consistency:
- Mouselook inconsistencies are now fixed when the game render dimensions differ from the game window size.
- Corrected an issue with target aim punch animation during client-side shooting.
- Fixed a bug where the Zeus headshot didn’t trigger the death yelp, and resolved an erroneous Zeus shock effect during client-side shooting.
User Interface Update
- Prior Major tournament results can now be accessed via the Majors tab in the Watch menu, giving players easy access to historic esports events.
This latest update aims to refine the player experience by addressing key bugs and ensuring smoother gameplay, especially on Vertigo and Mills.
