The final stage of qualifying for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 is approaching. Starting yesterday, November 11, the Asia RMR takes place in Shanghai, China, kicking off a three-week countdown to Counter-Strike’s flagship event.

The MongolZ come into the Asia RMR as the team to beat, heading into the competition as clear favorites. This qualifier will mark the first instance since StarLadder Berlin 2019 where three teams from the Asia-Pacific region will secure their spots in a Major. Eight determined teams are set to compete for these coveted positions.

The teams participating have qualified either through Valve’s Regional Standings or regional qualifiers. The MongolZ, FlyQuest, and Lynn Vision secured their spots through the standings, while Rare Atom, TALON, DRILLAS, GR, and Alter Ego qualified via regional tournaments held in China, Oceania, the Middle East, East Asia, and other parts of Asia.

The teams competing in the Asia RMR are as follows: The MongolZ from Mongolia, FlyQuest representing Australia, Lynn Vision and Rare Atom from China, GR from Russia, DRILLAS from Europe, TALON from Oceania, and Alter Ego representing other parts of Asia. These teams will face off in a double-elimination bracket format. The first matches will be best-of-one, with subsequent rounds adopting a best-of-three structure.

The Asia RMR schedule spans from November 11 to November 13. The opening round of matches is set for the first day, while the second day will feature two qualification matches and two elimination rounds. The third and final day will determine the third and last team to qualify for the Shanghai Major through three lower-bracket matches.

The stakes for this competition are high, with three spots in the Perfect World Shanghai Major Opening Stage available for the top performers. This development comes after recent adjustments that expanded the number of qualifying slots for Asia and Americas regions.

The talent lineup for the Asia RMR consists of experienced casters and interviewers. The English broadcast, managed by PGL and produced remotely from Romania, will feature commentary from Mamoon “TeaTime” Sabri, Michael “YouM3” Cassidy, Kyle “CodyCasts” Mullings, and Harvey “Skriv” Rodgers. James “BanKs” Banks, reporting from Shanghai, will provide on-site interviews and additional content.

As anticipation builds for the event, these teams are prepared to give their all to advance to one of Counter-Strike’s most prestigious stages. The Asia RMR promises intense matchups, showcasing talent and strategies as teams fight for their place in the Major.
