The developers behind Counter-Strike 2 have introduced updates to the rules that tournament organizers must follow for events in the coming year.

The main changes pertain to the procedures for selecting invitees to tournaments. From 2025 onward, event organizers will no longer be permitted to divide regions into separate subregions when determining invitations. For instance, a tournament hosted in Asia must consider the entire region collectively rather than focusing on individual areas like Southeast Asia.

However, this regulation does not apply to tier-2 competitions. Organizers of these events will retain the right to apply additional filters during the invitation process as long as these criteria are not designed to favor specific teams.

Additionally, the revised rulebook now allows tournament operators to issue invitations based on the most up-to-date version of Valve’s official ranking system.
