MIBR has clinched a place in the second stage of ESL Pro League S21 following a 2-0 victory over TYLOO on Inferno (13-10) and Anubis (13-7). The Brazilian squad, playing their first event with Breno “brnz4n” Poletto in the lineup, has wrapped up a strong group stage run, adding this win to their previous triumphs over FURIA and Nemiga.
Meanwhile, TYLOO is now on the brink of elimination. After opening their campaign with wins over Eternal Fire and 3DMAX, the Chinese squad has suffered two consecutive defeats, dropping them into the 2-2 bracket, where they must win their next match to stay in contention for a Stage 2 berth.
exit’s Leadership Revitalizes MIBR
MIBR entered the ESL Pro League after a dismal start to 2025, having won only two international matches across three events. Rafael “saffee” Costa even admitted during an interview at PGL Cluj-Napoca that the team was still struggling to find its rhythm.
The organization responded by making a key roster move, replacing André “drop” Abreu with brnz4n, while also reinstating Raphael “exit” Lacerda as in-game leader. This decision has breathed new life into the lineup, with MIBR showing a much-improved performance in EPL.
“He [brnz4n] was already familiar with our playstyle and the way I like to call,” exit shared in a post-match interview. “Integrating him back into the team was a smooth transition.”
TYLOO’s Momentum Stalls at a Crucial Moment
After a strong start in EPL S21, TYLOO has now suffered back-to-back losses, first against GamerLegion and now MIBR. Their defeat in this series was particularly concerning, as poor CT performances on both maps (only four rounds won on Inferno and just one on Anubis) allowed MIBR to secure a relatively easy victory.
While there were individual flashes of brilliance, including Yi “JamYoung” Yang’s impressive Deagle 4K, the team’s overall execution and decision-making fell short. Analyst Janko “YNk” Paunović pointed this out during the broadcast, emphasizing that TYLOO’s strategies were far from their best.
With just one final opportunity to advance, TYLOO is in danger of losing the momentum they built early in the event. The 2-2 bracket is expected to be highly competitive, featuring several strong teams, making their final matchup a do-or-die scenario.
