Tournament organizer PGL has officially postponed the closed qualifiers for the upcoming PGL Bucharest 2025 Counter-Strike 2 event, affecting the competitions across Europe, North America, and South America. The updated schedule for these qualifiers will be revealed on March 4, as stated by the company in an announcement made on its X social media account.

In a statement regarding the postponement, PGL emphasized its commitment to refining the invitation process, ensuring it remains both consistent and fair for all teams. Adjustments were necessary to align with the Tournament Operations Requirements, which led to the decision to reschedule the EU, NA, and SA qualifiers. The organization acknowledged the disruption caused by these changes and assured the community that it is working to prevent similar issues in the future.

Prior to this development, the complete list of European closed qualifier participants had already been determined. A total of eight teams had earned their spots through open qualifiers, while 24 additional squads secured their places via Valve’s ranking system. Initially, these qualifiers were set to take place between February 28 and March 8, with the main event scheduled to run from April 5 to April 13 in Bucharest, Romania. The PGL Bucharest 2025 tournament will feature a $1.25 million prize pool, making it one of the most significant Counter-Strike 2 competitions of the year.
