Cloud9, a prominent North American esports organization, has officially announced the departure of coach Konstantin “groove” Pikiner and manager Alexandr “Sweetypotz” Shcherbakov.
In a statement shared on the club’s X social media account, Cloud9 revealed that they are “stepping back” from the scene, with no immediate plans to return to the game. However, the organization left the door open for a potential comeback, depending on future circumstances. “We love CS and are always looking for new opportunities,” the statement read.
It’s worth noting that not long ago, several other players also left Cloud9, including Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov, Sergey “Ax1Le” Rykhtorov, Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko, Timofey “interz” Yakushin, and Kaisar “ICY” Faiznurov. Boombl4 and Ax1Le joined BetBoom Team, HeavyGod moved to G2, ICY was acquired by Virtus.pro, while interz is currently inactive.
Cloud9’s most recent performance was a disappointing penultimate-place finish at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, where they won only one match during the first stage. The team is currently ranked 26th in the HLTV standings.
