With just one remaining spot available, the race for a place in the $1 million IEM Dallas 2025 event is heating up.
NRG and Legacy have secured their positions at the prestigious tournament by winning the North American and South American qualifiers, respectively. They will now compete against top teams like Vitality, G2, FaZe, and Liquid.
NRG emerged as the champions of the North American qualifier, completing their run undefeated, with their only loss being a map drop to Nouns in the grand final. This marks the second consecutive tournament victory for Nick “nitr0” Cannella’s squad, who had previously triumphed in CCT Season 2 North America Series 4, an unranked competition. Alexander “br0” Bro, who was signed after his release from Astralis, was instrumental in their success, boasting a tournament-high 1.40 rating and leading the final with an impressive 1.53 rating.
NRG’s busy schedule continues as they will travel to Stockholm for ESL Pro League Season 21 Play-in, and they will also begin their qualifying campaign for BLAST Open Lisbon through ACE North American Masters Spring, which will feature M80.
Legacy’s qualification was arguably even more impressive. Despite being the lowest-ranked team in the four-team South American qualifier, the Brazilian squad triumphed without losing a single map, defeating Sharks and Fluxo twice to secure first place. Lucas “lux” Meneghini, the team’s newly appointed in-game leader from paiN, capped off the tournament with a stellar 1.56 rating in the final.
IEM Dallas 2025 will take place from May 19-25, featuring 16 teams. Eight of those teams have already earned invitations through the Valve Regional Standings, and NRG and Legacy will join Lynn Vision, BC.Game, Falcons, 3DMAX, and GamerLegion in the event.
The last spot will be determined by a match between HEROIC and Astralis in the final European closed qualifier match on February 20.
