Sangal Esports has officially introduced its revamped Counter-Strike 2 lineup, assembling a fresh squad following the departure of its previous core to HEROIC. The Turkish organization revealed that Buğra “Calyx” Arkın, a seasoned rifler formerly of Eternal Fire, and Danil “danistzz” Roslyakov, who previously handled AWP duties for BetBoom and Space, will be leading the newly-formed roster.
Alongside the two headline additions, the team has also secured Bartosz “bnox” Niebisz, who will take on anchor roles, as well as Raul “Blytz” Gligor and Rasmus “kreaz” Johansson, both formerly of ECLOT. kreaz will also assume the role of in-game leader, guiding the team’s tactical approach.
This major roster overhaul follows a period of significant changes for Sangal, which recently parted ways with Simon “yxngstxr” Boije, Yasin “xfl0ud” Koç, and Linus “LNZ” Holtäng, all of whom transferred to HEROIC. Additionally, the squad saw the departure of Dawid “SaMey” Stańczak, while Samet “jottAAA” Köklü returned to Eternal Fire during the offseason.
As a newly-formed squad, Sangal will not hold a ranking in Valve’s Regional Standings (VRS) and will have to start the year competing in open qualifiers to earn points and gain experience. The organization’s long-term objective is to break into the tier-two competitive scene by the latter half of 2025.
Expressing his confidence in the new lineup, coach Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson emphasized that building a roster from scratch is always a complex task, particularly when trying to create strong team cohesion. However, he firmly believes that the squad has great potential and is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead in 2025.
Sangal’s new competitive roster now consists of:
Buğra “Calyx” Arkın (Turkey)
Danil “danistzz” Roslyakov (Russia)
Raul “Blytz” Gligor (Romania)
Rasmus “kreaz” Johansson (Sweden)
Bartosz “bnox” Niebisz (Poland)
Coach: Jimmy “Jumpy” Berndtsson (Sweden)
