Metizport have announced the departure of Linus “nilo” Bergman, bringing the 20-year-old’s 16-month tenure with the team to an end.
Speculation has linked nilo with a potential move to HEROIC, though no official confirmation has been made regarding the transfer.
nilo initially rose through the ranks of Ninjas in Pyjamas’ academy system before joining Metizport in late 2023. He quickly established himself as one of Europe’s most promising talents, boasting an impressive 1.21 average rating and solidifying his position as the team’s star player in tier-two competitions.
In early 2024, nilo played a key role in Metizport’s victory at RES Western European Masters, where they overcame top 10 teams such as Apeks and FURIA to earn a spot at the BLAST Spring Showdown 2024. During that event, Metizport secured wins against Falcons and Monte but narrowly missed qualifying for the Spring Final after losing to Spirit. The team’s strong performances during this period pushed them into the top 30 of the world rankings.
However, roster changes disrupted Metizport’s momentum. Tim “susp” Ångström joined Wildcard, and Erik “ztr” Gustafsson moved to GamerLegion. Despite these setbacks, the team still managed commendable results, including a notable victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas to claim the Svenska Cupen title. In that match, nilo delivered an outstanding 1.36 rating, leading the server in performance.
The current Metizport lineup now features Sweden’s Nicolas “Plopski” Gonzalez Zamora, Casper “SHiNE” Wennerberg, Lucas “L00m1” Haukland, and Adam “adamb” Ångström, with Ahmed “abdi” Abdi continuing as coach.
