Perfect World has officially announced that the CS Asia Championships (CAC) will return in 2026, continuing to establish itself as one of the premier tournaments in the region. The event is set to be held in China from May 18 to May 24, marking the fifth installment of the competition. Previous editions of CAC took place in 2018, 2019, and 2023, with the fourth iteration already slated to run in October 2025.

The announcement of CAC 2026 comes with heightened expectations, as Perfect World had previously expanded the tournament format for CAC 2025, increasing the number of participating teams from eight to sixteen. This change reflects the growing significance of the event and aims to provide a more competitive platform for top-tier teams from around the world.

While including CAC 2026 enriches the 2026 tier-one calendar, logistical challenges could pose issues for some teams. With both ESL and PGL events set to conclude on May 17, one day before CAC kicks off, travel constraints may impact the ability of some teams to participate fully rested and prepared. However, the timing also offers opportunities for teams to extend their momentum if they transition seamlessly between tournaments.

The competitive calendar for 2026 is shaping up to be one of the busiest yet, with 21 major events already scheduled. The only months currently devoid of tournaments are June and December, traditionally reserved for the year’s two Majors. As such, CAC 2026 will occupy an important spot in the season, bridging the gap between other key events and maintaining the year’s high activity level.

This return of CAC further underscores the continued growth of Counter-Strike in Asia, with Perfect World aiming to solidify the tournament as a global staple. Fans can anticipate fierce competition, exciting matchups, and celebrating the region’s expanding presence in the esports scene.
