Fnatic, the British esports organization, has announced the departure of Aurélien “afro” Drapier, confirming that the 25-year-old French player is now a free agent. The news was shared via the club’s official X account.
Drapier joined fnatic in July 2023 and remained with the team until September 2024, when he was benched in favor of Tim “nawwk” Jonasson, who took over his position. Despite being sidelined, afro received his in-game sticker for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 due to the late roster change.
This announcement follows the departure of Jamie “keita” Hall, fnatic’s long-serving coach, who left the team yesterday. The 32-year-old had been with the organization since August 2021, guiding the roster for over three years.
Fnatic’s performance at the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 ended in disappointment. The team finished in last place and earned $10,000 in prize money. The squad is currently ranked 28th in the world in Counter-Strike 2 standings.
