The grand Esports World Cup festival organizers have officially revealed that Counter-Strike 2 will feature as a centerpiece of the 2025 event. As in previous years, ESL will handle the organization of this high-profile tournament.

The competition will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from August 20 to August 24, 2025. The prize pool has been increased to $1.25 million, marking a $250,000 rise from the 2024 event. The tournament champions will claim a hefty $500,000 reward.

The Esports World Cup 2025 in CS2 will see 16 teams battling supremacy. Invitations to participate will be extended in June, determined by Valve’s official ranking system.

It’s worth recalling that the 2024 Esports World Cup was also hosted in Riyadh from July 17 to July 21. That event boasted a $1 million prize pool. In the grand final, NAVI triumphed over G2 with a 2:1 victory. Valeriy “b1t” Vakhovskiy earned the title of the tournament’s MVP.
