The Hong Kong-based esports organization GR has officially parted ways with its Counter-Strike roster, leaving the future of the Russian Far East squad uncertain. The announcement was made on Saturday, weeks after the team’s disappointing last-place finish at the Asia RMR.
Representing the Russian Far East, GR had earned their place in the Asia RMR by overcoming opponents like Chinggis Warriors and ATOX during the East Asia Closed Qualifier. However, their efforts to progress further were thwarted as they suffered decisive defeats to Rare Atom and FlyQuest in the double-elimination format, falling short of securing a Major spot.
The situation took a turn shortly after the RMR when Pyak “7nation” Gil En departed the team due to “health-related issues,” as revealed in an official statement. With head coach Suleımen “dukefissura” Orazaly and player Vladislav “Sange” Tsyuan stepping in as stand-ins, GR competed in the 1xBet MESA Asia Series 2. However, their struggles continued as they finished at the bottom of their group, following losses to SGGT and The Huns.
In a statement posted on X, the organization expressed gratitude for the time spent with the players.
The disbanded roster included:
Arkadii “SALO_MUX” Balanda (Russia)
Oleg “weqt2” Pranenko (Russia)
Roman “mediocrity” Stetsenko (Russia)
Viktor “Runnin” Chernenko (Russia)
Suleımen “dukefissura” Orazaly from Kazakhstan served as the team’s coach.
