Team Vitality has officially dismissed speculation surrounding the potential sale of their in-game leader, Dan “apEX” Madesclaire. This response followed claims made by Sebastien “KRL” Perez. Vitality’s co-founder, Fabien “Neo” Devide, esports director Anne Elisabeth, and the team’s official account on X all emphasized that apEX remains an integral part of the roster and is not on the market.
In a playful exchange, Vitality engaged in banter with G2 Esports after the latter joked about apEX’s departure. Their lighthearted response included a mom joke, further underscoring their stance against the rumors.
It’s not unusual for organizations to publicly deny roster rumors, even if discussions are underway. KRL suggested that apEX himself might have been unaware of any potential negotiations, a claim that Russian insider Aleksey “OverDrive” Biryukov appeared to support. OverDrive sarcastically commented on Vitality’s denial, reminding fans that he had already reported on talks involving apEX in October.
Earlier that month, reports from Eastern European insiders harumi and OverDrive suggested that Falcons were interested in acquiring apEX. They also speculated that ZywOo could step into the role of in-game leader if the transfer took place. However, KRL refrained from disclosing which teams might have approached Vitality regarding the deal.
